All hunts are combined deer and elk, except 1st and 4th rifle seasons which are elk only. You may hunt one or both, but a separate license is required for each.
DRAW PERMIT DEADLINE – APRIL 1st. OTC licenses must be obtained by midnight of the day before that season opens. (Some years extra or additional cow licenses may be purchased OTC – call CO DOW to see if available).
All muzzleloader and rifle season hunters must wear at least 500 sq. in. of solid, blaze orange above the waist, part of which must be a hat or hat cover.
We do not allow alcohol while hunting or on the trail.
Only after all firearms are unloaded and stowed in the gear tent is it permitted.

Non-resident License Fees – These will be decided by DOW at either the Feb. or March commission meetings in Denver. The Big Game Applications and regulations book should be available by mid-late February from the DOW.
**IMPORTANT: To purchase a Colorado hunting license, all persons born on or after January 1, 1949 must successfully complete a hunter safety course. A certificate attesting to successful completion of an approved course must be presented at the time of hunting license purchase. Appropriate training certification from other states are honored when Issued by state agencies.
