2008 Hunting Seasons

All hunts are combined deer and elk except 1st and 4th rifle seasons which are elk only. You may hunt one or both, but a separate license is required for each.

Archery Season
Aug. 30 - Sept. 28
7 day hunts (or longer) - Guided or drop camps - Either sex hunting for deer and/or elk (entire season).
GMUs #12, #4, #441 - Draw only
GMU #214 - Over-the-counter license
Camp dates by arrangement

Muzzleloader Season
Sept. 13-21
7 day hunts (or longer) - Guided or drop camps
All licenses are for cow or bull, buck or doe and by DRAW PERMIT ONLY.
GMUs #12, #4, $441 - 1-8 preference points, draw for area only
GMU #214 - DRAW A STATEWIDE PERMIT (1-2 preference points)

Rifle Seasons
1st - October 11 - 15
5 day - ELK ONLY season - either sex license - DRAW PERMIT ONLY - no over-the-counter licenses.
Camp Dates OCT. 9-16 (guided or drop camps)

2nd - October 18-26
9 day - combined deer and elk season
deer and cow elk - DRAW PERMIT ONLY
bull elk - unlimited and available over-the-counter.
Camp Dates OCT. 17-27 (guided or drop camps)

3rd - November 1-7
7 day - deer and elk season
deer and cow - DRAW PERMIT ONLY
bulls - unlimited and available over-the-counter.
Camp Dates OCT. 30 - Nov. 8 (guided/semi-guided
drop camps)

All muzzleloader and rifle season hunters must wear at least 500 sq. in. of solid, blaze orange above the waist, part of which must be a hat or hat cover. We do not allow alcohol while hunting or on the trail. Only after all firearms are unloaded and stowed in the gear tent is it permitted.
